Safari Itinerary

 Depart Arusha for Lake Manyara National Park game drive. This lush ‘little park’ situated on the footsteps of the Great Rift Valley and provides a home to a wide range of different animals including Elephants, Buffalos, Giraffes, Hippos as well as more than 400 species of birds. It is most famous for its tree-climbing Lions, resting on Acacia branches six to seven meters above the ground. Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

After breakfast head off to the world’s most famous park, Serengeti National Park, with an optional stop at ‘the cradle of mankind’, as Olduvai Gorge is commonly referred as. From here enter the celebrated Serengeti National Park, which is the size equivalent to Ireland, and home to four million different animals. It is also home to the yearly ‘Great Wildebeest Migration.’ Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

One section of the herds of Wildebeest, Zebras and antelopes drift towards western Serengeti, seeking for the permanent waters of the Grumeti River, whilst others continue further north towards Lake Victoria. All the migration routes are closely pursued by predators such as Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hyenas and Vultures. Overnight: Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

From the west, transfer to the north of the Serengeti National Park, where the other herds of Wildebeest, Zebras and antelopes ‘race for life’ is in search of permanent waters from the northern rivers including the Mara River that flows into Kenya. Enjoy another day in the northern part of Serengeti National Park observing the Great Migration. Animals are prepared to sacrifice their lives when crossing raging rivers with strong currents, full of hungry Nile Crocodiles lying in wait, just to reach the green pastures of the Maasai Mara. When grazing in Mara is exhausted, the migrators turn back to central Serengeti to breed… and predators follow! Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Tented Camp/Camp in Central Serengeti

Enjoy a sunrise game drive in the southern, endless plains of the Serengeti. After lunch an optional of stopping by a colourful Maasai tribal home is available. These pastoral nomads have vigorously resisted change and still follow the same lifestyle they have lived for centuries! Overnight: Lodge/Hotel/Luxury Tented Camp/or Basic Camping.

After breakfast descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, abundant with wildlife. Here you will have huge opportunities to spot ‘the Big Five.’ Enjoy a Picnic lunch. In the afternoon return to Arusha town.
